I’m going to ride this event on a new bamboo bike. I built one a little while ago and ride it to work (see the pics) but now, for something completely different, I want to compete on a bamboo bike. A first I’m thinking! Building it shortly there will be some testing to do, so wish me luck!
I am raising money for children’s charity Action Medical Research, dedicated to improving the health of babies and children. I have ridden for this charity before and they’re a great team.
I wanted to stick with this charity because, like you probably, I still get ‘cut up’ when I see sick kids. My little girl Kate, was one of those sick kids and we’re lucky ‘cos everything turned out really well although she did have a few tough weeks in ITU – what a great way to start life!!
Action Medical Research is offering hope to the many thousands of families who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure.
Right now the best medical minds in children’s hospitals and universities across the UK are waiting for the green light to start research that could lead to life-changing treatments for babies and children. They just need the funding.
Will you help me reach my target? Just one breakthrough, however small, can mean the world.
Please support this cause by supporting my ride. If you’re a fund raiser too, please add me to your list for sponsorship for your next challenge!!
