Did you enjoy building the bicycle from scratch and would you recommend the experience?
It was great fun and really interesting building bike from scratch and attaching all the components. I would fully recommend it to anyone with a passing interest in bikes or building stuff for themselves.
What did you find most difficult about your bike build?
Choosing the colours! the downside of the customisation was the array of choices that I had.
What was the easiest part of the build?
James made the build very easy but still a personal challenge. Doing it at the workshop was great but with the instructions and jig provided I would happily do one at home.
How would you describe the ride of your finished bike?
Fun, springy, and nippy. I use it for my dadily commute in london and it has done a sterling job. Even a crash involving a large pot hole that totalled the front wheel only caused a little damage to the frame which was easy to repair, rather than needing welding equipment. It road over 5000 miles on very bumpy london roads!
What would you improve about the build experience or your finished bike?
I would set myself more time to complete the finish to a higher standard. This would mean more days of sanding and filling but would be worth it. Maybe on the next one….
